Sketches inspired by the Jungle Book

This sketch is inspired by one of the opening scenes of the Jungle Book when Shere Khan, the wolves and Bagheera. I first drew the wolves and used watercolour to add texture and colour. Then I drew the tiger and black panther. I did the wolves separate to the tiger and panther but I will develop this idea, add a background and accurately draw the animals to scale.

This second ketch is inspired by a temple scene in the book. This temple in the jungle is abandoned and filled with monkeys. To develop this sketch I will make sure to add in the monkeys hanging off different places and swinging between the temples. I think this could make it more colourful and exciting to look at. I really like how the water colour looks in this drawing because it accentuates how old the temple is.

For this drawing I decided to redraw Shere Khan. I wanted to draw him looking proud and alert. This was done by him sitting calming but his ears perked up, listening to the jungle. I wanted to draw simplistic leaves surrounding Shere Kan so that the focus is on the detailed drawing of the tiger. I framed this drawing with yellow to tie into the orange fur while making the green stand out. I drew this on procreate using a dry ink brush to give the brush strokes texture and to simulate a more traditional drawing.
